"When every minute counts"

Awareness

Our aim is to increase awareness of Emergency Life Support Skills for as many members of the public as would like to learn.

These skills include:

  • Dealing with an unconscious casualty (using the recovery position)
  • Cardio pulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
  • Recognising the signs and symptoms of a heart attack
  • Dealing with a choking adult
  • Controlling life-threatening bleeding
  • Using an AED (Automated External Defibrillator)

We do not discriminate in any way; Awareness sessions are available for the younger generation to senior citizens, schools to community groups. We have also delivered sessions to people who are physically unable to perform CPR themselves, giving them the knowledge to instruct others in an emergency. The sessionss are usually delivered in 1-2 hour sessions, for up to 30 people. Times can be discussed and tailored to availability.

HeartStart was initiated by the British Heart Foundation and is a recognised short training course for Life Support Skills.

If you are interested and would like us to run one of these courses for you, then please get in touch via the contact us page.

We are self funding so any donations for any sessions run will help us to run even more.
